For more than a quarter century, Rotary and its partners are this close to eradicating this tenacious disease. However, polio still exists in several nations today, and a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all.
Reaching the ultimate goal of a polio-free world presents ongoing challenges, not the least of which is a hundreds of million dollar funding gap. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high.
District 5340 has taken on a leadership role in Rotary's PolioPlus initiative. Through fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on volunteerism, members of District 5340 are helping turn. You can assist in this effort, and learn how to make polio a disease of the past.
One important way you can help is by joining the Polio Plus Society.
